El Rio Design Guidelines and Planning Standards

The El Rio Design Guidelines and Planning Standards document was prepared pursuant to an Intergovernmental Agreement between the cities of Avondale, Buckeye and Goodyear and Maricopa County Planning and Development and Flood Control District of Maricopa County to provide a consistent set of goals and policies for development across jurisdictional boundaries within the Gila River corridor.

These guidelines and standards will supplement existing local codes, ordinances and regulations and are not intended to replace, supercede, or modify local land-use regulations or development standards.  However, they will be used in the review and evaluation of any proposed change to the General Plan, rezoning of individual properties, and future development plans for properties located within the study area boundaries.

The Mayor and City Council will consider adopting this document at its regular meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 in the Goodyear Justice Center 14455 W. Van Buren Street, Ste. B101, Goodyear, AZ.  Anyone interested in this matter is welcome to attend the City Council meeting and make comments or submit written comments prior to the meeting to the City of Goodyear, Development Services Department, Planning and Zoning Division at 190 N. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338 or by email at gycdev@goodyearaz.gov.  Questions concerning this matter may be directed to Joe Schmitz, Long Range Planner, at 623-932-3005.
