Councilmember Wally Campbell was elected to the Goodyear City Council in March, 2011 to complete the term of then-Vice Mayor Georgia Lord which ended June, 2013. She was re-elected in March, 2013 to serve a second four-year term. Councilmember Campbell has served on multiple committees within the City of Goodyear. Her priorities include improving city-to-citizen communications, developing community connections, attracting industry-creating jobs, and the City’s fiscal stability.
Locally, she serves as a founding member and the current president of the Friends of the Library- Goodyear branch, the Council Liaison to the North Subdivisions Association, the Council Liaison to the Mobile community, a member of the White Tanks Rotary Club, Director of the City’s Historic Litchfield Station Foundation, and as a member of the All Faith Community Services Board of Directors. She also serves on the Southwest Valley Business/Education Advisory Committee, and on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Regionally, she serves as the chair of the Maricopa County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Board of Directors, a member of the Maricopa Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance, a member of the Arizona Assistance in Health Care Board of Directors, a member of the Community Information and Referral Services Board of Directors, and as a Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) Ambassador. Additionally, she was appointed by Governor Jan Brewer to serve as the public member of the Arizona Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers.
Nationally, Councilmember Campbell serves on the National League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors, and also serves on the NLC Transportation and Infrastructure Services Steering Committee, and the Military Communities Council. She is a 2015 NLC University Leadership fellow, and is also a member of the Women in Municipal Government group.
Councilmember Campbell and her husband of 48 years, John, a retired Air Force Officer, have lived in Goodyear since 2000 and have four children.
