Next Academy begin July 8–12, 2013 and second begins July 15-19, 2013
The Goodyear Police Department, in partnership with The Goodyear Police Officer's Association, is hosting the annual Teen Police Academy Training for high school students 14 to 18 years old. Applications are now being accepted. Class size is limited to 30 students, so get your application in soon.

The program, which provides an insider's look at law enforcement, is geared toward teens that may have an interest in criminal justice. Training is provided by various members of the Goodyear Police Department. A few of the topics of instruction include:
- working mock crime scenes
- firearms safety and training
- criminal street gangs
- SWAT
- K9
- drug awareness
The one-week program begins July 8 through July 12, 2013 and the second one begins July 15-19. Classes meet from 8 AM until 4 PM Monday through Friday. There may be a couple of days where hours may vary. There is a cost of $50 to pay for a Police polo shirt, some lunches, fun day, and the graduation ceremony.
